The first bricks of “ONS EIE” were laid in 1971. This was the initiative of the Benoni ”Skakelkomitee”. In 1981 the school was governed by the department of Education and was then handed over to the “Kultuurraad”. The school was in their hands until they gave it to the community of Benoni, which implies that there is currently no owner besides the parents. “ONS EIE” is an article 21 company and is there for a non profitable organization. The directors are parents, former parents and members of the community of Benoni. The school grew to 9 classes from as young as 4 months to grade R.

Die eerste bakstene vir Kleuterskool “ONS EIE” is gelê in 1971. Die skool was die inisiatief van die Skakelkomitee van Benoni. In 1981 het die skool ‘n departementeel beheerde skool geword. Die Skakelkomittee het die skool oorhandig aan die Kultuurraad wat dit vir ‘n hele aantal jare bestuur het . Toe die Kultuurraad ontbind, is die skool in 2006 aan die gemeenskap van Benoni oorhandig. Tans is “ONS EIE” ‘n artikel 21 maatskappy en dus ‘n nie-winsgewende instansie. Die direkteure bestaan uit oud-ouers en huidige ouers asook lede van die gemeenskap. Die skool is uitgebrei na 9 klasse wat strek vanaf babas vanaf 4 maande tot graad R.
